Concord Birth Trolley featured on Omrop Fryslân at Medisch Centrum Leeuwarden

We’re proud to share that Concord Neonatal’s approach to improve birth was recently highlighted on the Dutch Omrop Fryslân, in a segment from Medisch Centrum Leeuwarden (MCL).

The 2-minute video showcases why Medisch Centrum Leeuwarden implemented the Concord Birth Flow, to allow stabilization of newborns, without separation from their mother. Partly in Dutch and partly in Frisian, the segment highlights how this new approach promotes bonding and supports a more natural start for babies and their families.

Pediatrician-neonatologist Machteld van Scherpenzeel says: "Scientific studies show that staying connected to the umbilical cord for a longer period has many benefits for the baby's health. In addition, it creates a calmer and more intimate moment for the parents, who can see and touch their baby directly.
