St. Antonius Hospital celebrates 250th Concord Birth
Since the fall of 2022, St. Antonius Hospital in The Netherlands has implemented the Concord Birth Flow as the first general hospital with a level 2 neonatal care unit worldwide. From the start they have implemented Physiological-Based Cord Clamping into routine clinical practice, deploying a total of three Concord Birth Trolley’s.
Now, in early October 2024, the hospital is celebrating the 250th Concord Birth Flow for the delivery of baby Linde. Both the healthcare providers and the parents of this little girl look back satisfied and are very happy experiencing a Concord birth. Linde and her parents stayed in one of the special neonatal suites of the maternity department, where family-centered care is provided for children who need extra support after birth.
“The baby transitions much more naturally from inside the womb to outside, staying close to it’s parents. This aligns with our vision of working together to ensure the best start in life, in this case with innovative methods," says neonatologist Dr. Mirjam Kleinhout.
The hospital celebrated this 250th Concord birth with the team, the parents and Linde, who received a special onesie to mark this milestone!
